Compatibility

1. In General

The cosinuss° One was developed to be integrated smoothly into your training. Using standard connections, the °One is compatible with all devices you might be using currently. No technical changes, no loss of your previous training data.

Technically the cosinuss° One is compatible with all devices featuring bluetooth low energy or ANT+ (see important note below). Your smartphone must either feature Androit 4.3 or higher or has to be at least an iPone 4S or a higher version to have these features.

2. Sport watches

The cosinuss° One is technically compatible with all current sport watches in demand. Most of those are featuring standard connections as there are Bluetooth low energy or ANT+ (see important note below), such as e.g.:

  • Garmin
  • Polar
  • Suunto
  • o_synce

The cosinuss° One as an alternative sensor is to be connected to your watch like any cheststrap. Please follow the instructions in the operating manual of your sport watch!

2.1 Wrist

The patented technology of in-ear heart rate monitoring – only used by the cosinuss° One – is also the optimal alternative to measuring your heart rate on your wrist, which can show high fluctuations in the measurement. Here the °One can be a perfect upgrade for your sport watch, which would then serve as a second screen to display your heart rate.

2.2 Temperature readings

With some Garmin products an additional datafield can help to integrate temperature readings into the display of your watch. The Garmin connect datafield was developed by on of our customers, Thomas Völkl, thank you for that. With most other products currently available only the heartrate is able to be shown.

2.2.1 Garmin Datafield

Garmin connect Datafield: Body Temperature

Note: Currently, the app only supports data transmission via ANT+. The app can therefore no longer be used for cosinuss °One sensors from LOT number 2201. The app developer is currently working on a new version for data transmission via Bluetooth.

2.3 Watch case

Some sportwatches have a very robust and well shielded case, which can possibly interfere between the connection of the sensor and the watch. Models we are aware of this certain case will be noted on our compaitbility-list.

3. Bike computer

The cosinuss° One is technically compatible with all current bikecomputers in demand. Most of those are featuring standard connections as there are Bluetooth low energy or ANT+ (see important note below), such as e.g.:

  • Garmin
  • O-Synce
  • VDO
  • Sigma

The cosinuss° One as an alternative sensor is to be connected to your bikecomputer like any cheststrap. Please follow the instructions in the operating manual of your bikecomputer!

3.1 E-Bike and Cardio

An increasing number of new onboard computers for E-bikes such as the Bosch Nyon have got the feature to display the heart rate variability and further Cardiofeatures. Using standard interfaces, such as Bluetooth low energy and ANT+ (see important note below), the °One is compatible with such e-bike computers. Ergometeres and other cardio fitness trainig devices with corresponding interfaces can be connected, too.

4. Fitness Apps

The cosinuss° One can be used with all common and leading fitness and training apps on your smartphone. Your smartphone must either feature Android 4.3 or higher or be at least an iPone 4S or a higher version to provide a connection via bluetooth low energy. The apps can display the heartrate due to a linked in sensor. Therefore the cosinuss° One can easily be added as a heartrate sensor in your smartphone applications.

Please follow the instructions in the manual of your app to connect a third party sensor! Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone, in order to connect your sensor!

  • Runtastic
  • Polar Beat
  • Garmin connect
  • Nike+ Running

4.1 Heart rate monitoring apps

Fitness-training apps are mostly used to keep track of your performance and to keep you motivated. These apps got many additional features, such as e.g. the calculation of the burned calories. These are always calculated in relation to the heartrate. The more exactly your heart rate is measured the more precisely all other cardio-dependent data of your training is calculated.Notice thatburned calories, stride rate and the performance level is being determined in relation to the heartrate, too. If your pulse reading is missing, the application will only estimate it. The cosinuss° One can smoothly be integrated in your training. No technical changes, no loss of your previous training data. Simply better and more accurate heartrate monitoring.

4.2 Pro-Version

Some apps provide the display of your heartrate monitoring only in a Pro-version. For this versions you often have to pay a fee. For more information please consider the operator of your app.

4.3 GPS

The cosinuss° One is not provided with an internal GPS. All data and calculations created by GPS like e.g. the distance, must be provided by the receiving device (smartphone, bikecomputer or sportwatch). Please activate the locating services on your smart phone!

Note: Please note that the new sensor models of the cosinuss° One no longer support data transmission via ANT+. This applies to sensors with LOT number 2201 and higher. We explain where you can find the number on your sensor here °One FAQ.
